Nice size knot above incision

Hi ladies...

I had a TAH/BSO on Nov. 14th and i have noticed a nice size knot above my where in my incision is... I spoke with my sister who's had three c-sections and recently had a tummy tuck. She state she had the same thing and it turn out to be an infection. I see my Dr. on Tue. Nov. 27th for my 2week check up... Has anyone else experienced this?

I had something similar to this, but the lump, bump, knot whatever you wanted to call it was just leftover blood and went away after a couple of weeks. I would call you dr in the morning to see if you could go in on Monday just to have some peace of mind. Good luck!!!

I had that too, it was the stitch wad. It was not red and swollen. I still have a lttle one at three months out, like an egg, but it is not red either. I have a check up tomorrow, so I will ask about it. It does not give me problems except when I wear jeans.

Hi Ladykagt, I get busted, using slang.I call it a sticth wad. My term for:
What I have learned is that some doctors prefer a side to do most of their stiches on, to tie off all the stuff, my doctor uses the left side so the big bulk of stictches was on the left side of my incision. A buch of stitches. My fault for using local slang. Sorry...

I saw my doc last week for a bulge like place. She said that I was just uneven and it was no problem. She mashed around and it didn't hurt, but i felt pressure and a moment of anxiety that it would hurt. She said that I was healing well.

Hi ladykagt, I hope your lump turned out to be a stitch wad, or stitch bundle as my doctor called it today. That is what my egg is. He did the whole pantomine and described how it happens. Anyway, he said it would eventually dissolve. This was my 3 month to make sure the silver nitrate worked. It did. I do remember the lump was pretty big and tender in the beginning too. Let us know how you are doing. The best advice was to check with your doctor.

I just got back from my 6 week checkup, and my lumpy "wad" thing is still there. I had originally gone to see her at 3 weeks because I was worried it was a hernia.

She keeps telling me it's just normal swelling....but it's unattractive (!) and I hope it eventually goes away!
