Another HRT question - For those of you on Enjuvia

I was wondering if any of you ladies are on Enjuvia 0.625mg? I am 3 mos post op and have samples that I was supposed to start taking at my 3 week check up. I never started them for fear of the side effects. BUT now I am having so many problems I am now thinking I should have started on them. I have pain in my bellly, feet, hips and major major back pain 24/7. I have hot flashes during the day and at night. I am having mental issues as well, lack of focus, memory, have trouble sleeping. My question is should I start these pills? What negative side effects could I experience? How soon do they start to work? I have a call into my Doctor now but thought I would ask you guys your experiences with this drug?
Thanks so much!

Another HRT question - For those of you on Enjuvia

I started Enjuvia 1.25 the night of surgery. I took it for four or five days before I felt "side effects." Mainly headache and queasy feeling. However, if you're experiencing all the menopause issues, it can't hurt to try. You're more than likely not going to have any violent reaction. You may be able to differentiate between No HRT and HRT. It may not end up being the right one for you (it wasn't for me), but I knew that it helped with some of the symptoms. I am using bioidentical creams at the moment (tri-estrogen and progesterone)...waiting for an appointment with a doctor more knowledgable in that area...waiting and waiting(she was out sick on Friday -- my appt day that I'd had for six weeks! -- Now it's three more til they can "fit me in". Ughh..
Anyway, this is not about me
Best of luck. It sound slike you need something.

Enjuvia

My doctor put me on Enjuvia .45mg. 1 month before my surgery/LAVH/Bladder sling, (Total hysterectomy) lost ovaries. Then I stopped taking them 2 weeks before my surgery. At my first appt. he said to start taking them again because I noticed leg cramps, horrible headaches, muscle aches. I started up and all went away, plus I sleep like a baby. I am concerned about bad things happening to me down the road however. I have a Doc appt in the am (5wk post-op)and I am going to inquire about the negative effects. My mom told me to keep taking them because my bones will become brittle and she said I will age more quickly. Anyway-might as well continue since I am feeling good right now.

Another HRT question - For those of you on Enjuvia

I take enjuvia. I'm cutting the .625mg tablets in half and balancing it with a little progesterone. I've been on this level of enjuvia for about a month and prog. for about 2 weeks. It's working good for me at the moment. I'm sleeping well and not having many hot flashes, maybe 2 a week. It seems to be getting less all the time. If you do decide to start I would suggest doing the lowest dose and working up. I went up and down twice and when I was going down on them I got headaches. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I continue to feel as well as I do now. Good luck. Kathy

Another HRT question - For those of you on Enjuvia

This is my first day on HysterSisters, but since I am taking Enjuvia .625, and my hysterectomy (complete) was a week before yours, I'll give you my experience for what it's worth. Before starting Enjuvia, I was having terrible hot flashes, fogginess, diziness, etc. I've been taking Enjuvia for a month now, and those symptoms are reduced. I did begin to feel better within the first week. For me, it's been helpful, though I still have so many questions of my own! Hope this helps a bit . . .

Another HRT question - For those of you on Enjuvia

I am on Enjuvia .625. I love how much more focused I feel. But I am depressed, but I take other meds that need evaluation.

No headaches, sleep well, but OMG, my breasts are so sore. The best thing for me has been the relief of vagina atrophy that I had before they took my ovary. I feel like a woman again.

Oddly, they take my uterus and ovary (I only had one left) and I feel more like a woman.

But I am glad to see someone saying she cuts hers in half. I might try to that see if I get the same effect without so much breast pain.

On the 1/2 dose of enjuvia I don't have any breast pain. I just recently got a prec. for .3 mg so I don't have to cut it now. If you do decide to cut down you may get headaches for a bit but it should pass after your body readjusts. Good luck.

Another HRT question - For those of you on Enjuvia

I started with an estrogen patch right after surgery. All of my menopausal symptoms disappeared on day 1 so the effect is pretty quick.

Unfortunately I have a reaction to the adhesive so my dr switched me to the Enjuvia .625mg at week 4. I was having hot flashes, foggy thinking prior to my surgery. I can't tell the difference bwt the patch and the pill. No negative side effects so far. I have noticed that my armpit and leg hair has started to grow again but the single mustache hair on my upper lip has disappeared. Go figure. Dr said he would keep me on the hormone for about 5 years and then he would start weaning me off of it.

Help!!!

I am only 23 and I had a complete abdominal hysterectomy on Sept. 28 due to huge cysts on both ovaries. My doctor started me on an Estradiol patch, but I had some problems with the adhesive so he switched me to Enjuvia 1.25- everything has been great until about 2 weeks ago. I noticed my hair getting thinner. Now my hair is falling out in handfuls!! My doctor didn't seem too concerned but I am!! I have started cutting my pill in half to see if that helps. Has anyone else had this problem?? What did they do to help you??

I have not had that problem {yet}. I am surprised that you started with such a high dose. Let us know how taking a half a pill works out. I thought most doctors started folks out on the smallest dose possible or do they have to give you more estrogen because you are younger?
