9 days left!

AAACK! I only have 9 days left until my surgery. It seems like yesterday I was counting down from 47 days. The time has flown by! I thought I was nervous before, but now I am just going crazy. I quit smoking 2 weeks ago, and that has a little to do with my nerves. I enjoyed smoking very much, but I know that I needed to quit so that I can be healthier for my surgery! I almost can't wait until next Thursday. I am ready to get it over with and be home healing. This website has been a great help with allowing me to prepare myself mentally for so many different scenarios. I am having an LAVH with a 95% chance of the ovaries going bye bye too! At this point, with all the information I have read, I think I just want my doc to take the ovaries and be done with it.

For all of you who have just joined this site, read and read until you can't read any more. There are so many helpful things on here, even in the categories that don't include you.

Good luck to all who are waiting to go under! And, thank you to all those who already have and have posted their stories!

I know what you mean! I'm waiting for the same day.. I'm already packed, and still putting things in.. I just added the Gas-X strips.. I'm finding out new things as I read and adding them to my bag as I read.. I'm going to be READY! I even have a goofy book "shoe addicts anonymous" to read while I'm there.. if I can stay clearheaded enough. Hubby thinks I'm silly to have packed already but I'm notorious for forgetting things, so I figure if I pack now.. I can add as I remember things, and by the 13th, I'll be all ready.

It has been hard, but I don't smoke in my house or in my car when my daughter is with me, so that helps me a little. Also, my mom smokes, but she smokes menthol...yuk....so I don't try to bum any off of her. My husband doesn't smoke and I have kind of stayed away from my friends who smoke for the time being. I did bum one the other day, and it tasted horrible. So, I think I am done. Good luck to you with quitting cat!

CONGRATULATIONS ON QUITTING SMOKING!!! That is absolutely phenomenal news. Not only will it help your body heal so much better and faster, it also the single most important thing you can do to reduce your risk of ever developing cancer. Now that you've conquered this feat, believe me, a hysterectomy should be a piece of cake.

In 10 days, you will be uterus and pain-free and on the course to a brand new life. My key before surgery was always to think of what life would be like after surgery vs. the day of surgery. Try this and it will hopefully help you relax.

And I'm very serious... congratulations on quitting smoking. That's absolutely fantastic!
