Just had consult, now surgery Thursday!

Hi there,

I never knew how fast this process would go to get a hysterectomy. I just had my consult with my Dr. on Monday and his nurse called me today saying they had a cancellation for Thursday! Yikes! Talk about moving fast.

I'm torn. This actually is a good month for me to get it done as my job has a lot of shutdown's and holidays the last two weeks of December. BUT I had hardly got my head around the fact they are taking everything (inc. ovaries).

Maybe it is better this way? Won't give me as much time to worry.

I better get reading on TAH / BSO. I pray that I am able to at least walk around and WFH after the 1st week. I can lay in bed with my laptop (just started a new role with my company and leaving for 4-6 weeks isn't going to fly).

Wish me luck that I wake up and have as good as a recovery as a lot of sisters I read here.

I found after a week I was still pooped but was far less sore than the earlier days. I had gotten a laptop the day, literally, before my surgery and it was a godsend.

Working from home might be possible but I would think more like 2 weeks than one. With surgery on a Thursday, maybe a little that Monday after Monday kind of thing. I also think it depends on what you do and what you are expecting. Theres a difference between logging in once a day for approvals, reviewing payroll for a couple hours every Tuedays or confirming orders every afternoon versus decoding code for 8 hours a day.
