I have a sore throat...

sapphiresuz,

Sorry you aren't feeling well. When I get a sore throat, I gargle with warm salt water, drink hot tea with honey, and suck on throat lozenges. During the day I wear a scarf around my neck to keep it warm, even indoors. When I go to bed, I rub Vicks Vapor Rub on my throat and chest.
If I feel really bad I sip Theraflu before bed. My sore throats don't usually last long.
I hope you are feeling better soon!

I have a sore throat...

Hi Gals,
I woke up with a cold yesterday and thought OH NO! I felt worse this morning and called my doctor. I said I have a cold, it's not in my lungs but I felt the need to touch base with you. They said no problem as long as you aren't nauseated you should be fine. She/the nurse said I will tell your doc and if he wants to reschedule he'll call otherwise it's a go. I never heard back so Thursday is a GO! OMG I can't wait!!!

Best wishes to you all!

I have a sore throat...

I think that calling your dr would be a good idea. Let him/her advise you on what to do. This close to your surgery you don't want to risk taking anything that may cause complications or reactions.
I got the sniffles before my surgery. My dr told me that unless I was running a fever or couldn't breathe well enough surgery would procced as planned. Everything went as scheduled. I hope that your's can too

Be cautious - please call today

I have a sore throat...

I'm going in for my pre-op @ 11am (Pacific) so I'll be able to ask her then. My throat was a little sore this morning but tea & oj has helped. Thanks everyone.

I have a sore throat...

I'd try one of the products out there like Zicam, that will nip a cold in the bud, or something similar. Go to the cold section and see what there it. And wash you're hands a lot!

I'm a day behind you. Can you believe it's finally time?

Had my pre-op appt yesterday & got... (kids mentioned)

the all clear from both ob/gyn & anesthiologist (is there an acronym for that?).
Of course, before my appt I finally had a meltdown. I had a panic attack worrying not about the surgery but my kids. My DH isn't very available for me or the kids... has his own business & isn't even taking Monday off to take me to the hospital. Thankfully, I have family & awesome friends that are willing & able to step in but it just hit hard that I can't depend on DH for much of anything. Not a new revelation but a tough one at that.

Oh, then last night, I started my period (almost a week early) at my DSD's band concert. Fortunately, I have an emergency kit in the car just for these types of occurences (can't wait to toss that into the fireplace!)... in the 2 hour time we were there I had to change my super+ tampon 3 times & was a mess by the time I got home... GOOD RIDDANCE! I told my best friend it was Mother Natures way of having the last laugh!

On top of all that, all 3 of my kids are sick (one inner ear infection, 2 hackie coughs & a partridge in a pear tree!) 8-)~ ... I asked their ped for a medical mask!!!

Anyway, I'm off to finish making a calendar of who's doing what for my supporters & one for my DH so he knows where the kids are until I get home from the castle.

Best wishes to us all!!!
