Are my ovaries working?

Hi everyone,

I am just trying to think of reasons as to why I am so emotional right now. Could it be that my ovaries aren;t working yet?

I started my period the day of surgery. My hormones have always been fine. Doc found an endometrioma cyst on one ovary and took it off.

I am so sensitive right now I almost feel like I am PMSing, but just started my period last Monday right before surgery or something, it sucks!

Can the surgery itself, hurt the ovaries for awhile?

I had my surgery on Dec 4 and cryed like a baby for no reason for a week. I think its just something that happens to us when they mess with those parts that are so sensitive. Im sure your fine now but i was happy i wasnt the only one going through all the emotions. Hope all is well

COuld you think of a reason why you were crying? I cant think of any....it sucks, huh?

Yes, the surgery can affect the ovaries and you'll find many posts about "sleeping ovaries" or "ovaries going into shock". If you try a "forum search" (click right, on the second purple bar down, on the main page of this forum) many posts will be revealed for you to read through.

It's not possible to say just how long this will continue but you may wish to have a word with your doctor if things don't improve in the near future? Some ladies are able to take temporary HRT to help relieve the symptoms.

I couldnt think of any reason. It seemed everytime someone called me i would just start crying. They thought i was in severe pain but i was only hurting emotionally. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy. Everythig out except one ovary remains. The thing i hate most is the sweating i have at night. I cant understand why im having it with the one ovary. Oh well i pray we find ourselves again soon
