Weight gain - what is your experience?

I was researching Divigel and came across this wonderful website. I am 37 and had my hysterectomy in two parts uterus in June of 05, then ovaries in Jan 0f 06. I have gained weight even though I go to the gym 3-4 days a week and have cut my calories down to 1200. I ran out of cenestin and was feeling pretty good. I was waiting for my prescription, I started to loss wait and like it. I am now starting to feel irritable and my hot flashes are getting stronger. My doctor gave my samples of Divigel but I'm afraid to try. It sounds vein but I don't want to weigh to much. What is everyones experience with weight gain?

I am 8 years post op, have been on hrt the entire time and have not gained weight. Weight gain can be caused by an imbalance of the hormones, not necessarily from the hrt itself. Also, a thyroid imbalance can be the cause of weight gain. Here's a few articles with some more info for you:
