Facial hair, PMS, and HRT

I had a TAH in 2002 and just had both ovaries removed Dec. 19. My doctor started me on the Vivelle-Dot 0.1 mg patch the day after surgery. I was supposed to have changed patches today, but my pharmacy didn't have them and it'll be tomorrow before I get them.

So far, I haven't had any problems, other than being very restless in the evenings, but that could be caused by other meds I'm taking or some of the anesthesia meds still in my system, I guess.

My question though is, for several years, I've had pretty bad PMS, mood swings (wanting to divorce my hubby once a month) and facial hair growing on my chin. I'm assuming all of these symptoms were caused by fluctuations in my estrogen from peri-menopause or such.

Since I'm now on a steady estrogen dose, do you think the mood swings will diminish or the facial hair decrease or go away? I know HRT isn't a cure-all, as it's just replacement, but there is so much I don't know about all of this yet, so I'm in unfamiliar territory here and would love some advice from those who have explored this jungle before me.

I have been on hrt since 10/29 and my moods have improved greatly. Even DH said he has noticed. My one hair on my upper lip has also disappeared. The hair on my legs and armpits has started to grow again. I guess we grow hair in different places when the estrogen is low. I am assuming these changes are due to the estrogen I am taking.
