More Bills Almost 4 Months Later

Well, not a bill but a statement from the insurance company with a check ?!? attached for a person I never heard of & don't know what they did. I thought I only owed my Dr. a bit more & that was it. Now this thing for what looks like over $2000 show up. I don't have it.
This is just what I need at the holidays & with a different medical problem that I have to go to the Dr. on Wednesday for. More stress, just what I need.

Sounds like maybe the insurance company mixed something up there. Check the bill carefully and make sure it is actually yours...it's odd that a check for someone else you never heard of would be attached. And very odd that they would send a check, usually insurance companies pay the provider directly. A check is issued only if you've paid out of pocket and you are getting a reimbursement.

I went to the hospital website & did a search for the dr. name. A general surgeon came up but that's it, no info or anything. When I pulled up the dr. that did the surgery she had a ton of info under her name, what she does, schools, insurance taken, etc. I did log into the insurance company website & sent them a message saying I'd used an in-network hospital & dr. & what is this. I haven't received anything from the person on the insurance statement yet. I'll post what I find out. Thanks
