Surgery 12/27 - abnormal EKG on preop?

Okay, had all my preop done today. EKG, chest x-ray, lab, etc. etc.... on the EKG it said normal sinus rhythm, cannot rule out anterior myocardial infarction (heart attack)? I have never had a heart attack. What is this stupid result? I have not talked to the doctor yet. They said it was probably just a computer generator EKG result that was not right, but???

I hope that you got a chance to ask your dr and that it was nothing to worry about
I think that if it had been something serious, the dr would have called to let you know & possibly reschedule your surgery until it was taken care of.

Rae, I'm not trying to scare you but it is a known fact that women can have a mild heart attack and never know when it happened. I know because I have the same thing show up on an EKG that did not show up on previous ones but shows up all the time now. That is why I can to have additional cardiac clearance for this surgery.

Good luck to you, hope it is just a malfunction of the machine.
