Estroven-Anyone tried it?
Hello,
I am three weeks post op and am experiencing hot flashes and night sweats. My mood is so much better in fact my husband and family tell me it is good to have my old self back. (That made me feel good-what was I like before?oh dear) Anyway, I do not want to sacrifice the "new me" but I want to be comfortable. I was looking up Estroven. Has anyone used this?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks andeaj01

Estroven-Anyone tried it?
Hi,
You might try doing a Search on it here, as there have been others who have used it in the past. The herbals can be helpful to some if their sympptoms aren't too severe, and they might take the edge off. You will need to give it a few weeks to see how it works, as herbals take some time to see results, since they are much weaker than hrt.

Estroven-Anyone tried it?
I've been taking Estroven for 7 weeks now as I can't take HRT. I've found it helps a lot and I definitely notice a difference if I've forgotten to take it or skip a day. It really helps with the hot flashes. I have less of them and they are less severe when I'm taking the Estroven regularly. I've also started taking Estroven PM at nite to help with the nite sweats and to help me sleep better naturally. Seems to be working as well. I've been on antidepressants for years so I really haven't had any unusual mood symptoms. From all I've read about the long-term effects of HRT, I think an all natural alternative is much healthier. Our grandmothers certainly didn't have HRT and they did all right!
Hope you find some relief and definitely give the Estroven time to work. I felt a difference after about 2 weeks. Good luck!

Estroven-Anyone tried it?
I've Been On Estroven Since Summer And I Truly Believe It Works. I Will Not Take Prempro So Estroven Pm At Nite Helps With The Nite Sweats And Insomnia!! And Reg. Estroven During The Day Had Really Helped With The Hot Flashes. Not Nearly As Severe As It Used To Be. I'm Actually Quite Comfortable Now That I've Been Using Estroven. It Took About 10 Days After Using It That I Started Noticing It Was Working. Try It.....it Works

Estroven-Anyone tried it?
Hello Everyone!
I was reading this thread, as I am looking into natural alternatives to hrt (I hear too many horror stories about hrt). I found some good information on Estroven and am considering it but I also came across another natural / herbal product (rated very high) called Zalestra. Anyone heard of it and if so, what are your thoughts regarding this product? Do you know if it is an OTC product? Is Estroven also an OTC product? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Estroven-Anyone tried it?
Estroven is over the counter and comes in regular strength, extra strength and a PM variety. I find extra-strenght works better for me as it has more black cohosh which is really effective with hot flashes. I tried the PM as well but I found it didn't work so I stopped taking it. I'm now taking Ambien for insomnia. If you do decide to try Estroven, be aware that it really does take like a week to feel anything. I haven't heard of the other remedy.

Estroven-Anyone tried it?
Hi Girls,
I had a site reaction from the Climara patch then the doc put me on the dot. After 24 hours of having that on I had slight chest pains and stomach cramps. I went to get checked out everything was fine. The doc said it may or may not have been from the dot hormone patch. Now I am scared to put the patch back on. Estroven seems to be a good idea. I want something natural with no side effects. Do you need to take more calcium with it? Is estroven a safe alternative? Do I still take my daily muti-vitamin? I am so confused by all the talk about estrogen. Do you need it really? I hear of alot of women who say don't take it. HELP!!!!

Estroven-Anyone tried it?
Welcome to the all-too-confusing world of HRT or no HRT. There are no clear answers (and believe me I've researched it to death) and everyone's situation is different. I can never take HRT due to a blood-clotting disorder and I've been taking Estroven daily since my TAH in November. I also take a vitamin, calcium suppelment, vitamin E, vitamin C and folic acid. I'll probably add flax seeds soon as I've read that is a good remedy for hot flashes. I drink soy milk (chocolate is the only one I'll drink!) two times a day. I'm not sure if it's all in my head, but I do feel better. Since I've started with the soymilk and vitamin supplements, my hot flashes have greatly reduced in intensity and frequency. I still get them, but they're not that bad.
You should talk with your Doctor about HRT. I don't think there's any clear answer about the risks of HRT. But if you decide not to take HRT, you do need to read up on how to supplement your body to protect it in a similar way to how HRT protects us. I do believe that diet, exercise, and natural supplements can be an equally good alternative to HRT without the dangerous side effects. But talk to your Doctor!

What a difference
Hello ladies,
I braved the elements and started taking Estoven-regular strength. What a difference. I have cold chills now but I would rather have cold chills than have hot flashes and night sweats more often than not. I am also taking calcium, zinc, magnesium, b12 and vitamin c. I feel good! Hope everyone is doing well!
