Vaginal Vault Prolapse

I was wondering what exactly the symptoms are for this and what is done to fix it. My doc has me getting a sonogram on Jan. 23 to see if this is what is going on. I am feeling a lot of pressure inside and when I checked myself, it feels as though there is a bulge when I bear down (sorry if TMI). I had my TLH on December 7.

Vaginal Vault Prolapse

Paula--

There are several types of surgery that can be done to repair the vaginal vault that has prolapsed. It depends on what your Dr. has done before, what is happening with your particular type of prolapse, and other factors. Since we don't know what type of repairs your Dr. will be attempting, we don't know quite what to tell you.

All such prolapse repairs tend to have restrictions on things such as weightlifting, however. One is never to lift weights that weigh more than 10-15 pounds during the intial recovery period of 6-12 weeks according to the augs.org website. Then, AUGS recommends that a woman stay away from lifting anything heavier than about 25 pounds for the rest of her life to make sure things don't prolapse or 'fall' again.

I hope this helps you in your question for information. S....
