Soreness and Stiffness
I am 5 months out from a TAH/BSO. I am currently on the Viville Dot and did physically well, but with some emotional setbacks. My question is, does anyone feel extremely "stiff muscles" or aches that shouldn't be there (not from exercise, exertion, etc.)? I also feel like the bottoms of my feet are sore. These symptoms are more prevalent when I first get up of the morning. Anyone with the same?

Soreness and Stiffness
Hi there. I had my TAH in Feb 2007. I was on estratest and had heart pounding AND anxiety! Got on the vivelle patch last week. The heart pounding is stopping but I havenoticed the bottom of my feet hurt wheni first get up or after I have been sitting for awhile. Thats odd.
I do have stiff muscles but was blaming me turning 44 for that, maybe not so. Gees, these hormones make you crazy. I tired getting off of them all together. NOT a goodidea! Whast a girl to do.........

Soreness and Stiffness
Hi, I just posted elsewhere on this site about a similar topic. It seems that the aches and pains you describe are not unusual after surgery, although a lot of doctors would like you to think that they are unrelated to the surgery. As I and other women have noted, it seems that our type of surgery--which is a major trauma to the body--can unleash a Pandora's box of aches and pains.....sometimes it just allows a pre-existing problem, such as arthritis or fibromyalgia, to "flare up" worse than ever before, possible due to the lack of estrogen, which many think provides protective benefits to various parts of our bodies. The only estrogen I use is prescribed Estrace vaginal cream which I use only for the purpose of maintaining vaginal health and strength. Although the two of you are using hrt, it's still not the "real" thing--the original estrogen your bodies made--and which MAY have been keeping certain problems under control. It's all rather disheartening isn't it? But all we can do is go on from here.

Soreness and Stiffness
Hi,
I am so glad that someone else is feeling like me. I too have had horrible pain on the bottom of my feet. The muscle soreness and joint aching is also bad. I feel like I am 80 years old sometimes, trying to hobble around.(I am only 45.) I am on the Vivelle Dot 0.75 and have been for 2 months now. I am also feeling like I am "swollen" more, not only abdominally, but all over, like I am retaining fluid. I am considering calling the doc, but hesitate because I don't know whether it's hormone related or not. I feel better in someways since decreasing my dose from Estriodol 1mg patches....no more terrific headaches and emotionally I think I am doing o.k. , so I don't want him to change things and end up with worse side effects. I just don't know what to do.
Hoping that a New Year and focusing on taking better care of myself all the way around will improve things. Let me know if you get anymore info.

Soreness and Stiffness
Hi! Thanks for responding.Sometimes I think I am in this allalone. Today, even thoughit is nasty outside(rain, storms) i feel good for a change. Finally adapting to the vivelle dot(0.1 i believe) I thought I was doinggood and felt good until allof the sudden, last couple months. I sure dont liek taking these hormones but I am scared not to. I am taking it 1 day at a time and today was a good day Hope to talk to ya again soon.

Soreness and Stiffness
My feet are very stiff and achy when I first get out of bed in the morning. I'm taking Estratest HS and other than the achy feet have no complaints about it. I thought maybe the aching was from walking 3 miles in the evening in an effort to lose weight but noticed they ache even when I don't walk.....too much NOT walking around the holidays.....too many cookies......bad combo!

I also have the sore feet. I found out it is due to hormone imbalance. I think it was surferbabe that said that. Also, the aches and pains in the muscles sounds like maybe you need some testosterone. My gyn said the pains in the joints are estrogen deficiency and the aches in the muscles are testosterone deficiency. I am feeling it right now. You are not alone! I plan on starting testosterone as soon as I get my estradiol to where is should be. ((Hugs))

Aches
Just wanted to chime in...although I do not take the Vivelle...I did experience the muscle aches and pains, so bad..I felt like I was going to die...I was so stiff..I could barely walk...My rings hurt my fingers! I started on a multivitamin and work out three times a week and the stiffness and aches went away that same day...

Soreness and Stiffness
I am not alone ! I thought I was going crazy complaining all the time and feeling like my bones are 90 years old. I had a TAH/BSO on July 9th 2007 I am 6 months post op. My feet also hurt every single morning, but what hurts the most is my right hip bone if I have been sitting it is so hard to get up and actually start walking. Turning over in bed at night hurts so bad. I am currently not on any HRT (my doctor doesn;t believe in it) but I am seriously thinking about finding a doc who does, this just hurts so bad, I wonder if it ever gets better?
