possible ovary removing surger coming my way?

ugh, so i had my surgery allmost 2 years ago, i had endo and after i was done having kids we decided enough was enought with the pain all the time. i had my ovaries and cervix left in so i would not need HRT as i was only 30 at the time. pain has been gone but my sex drive went kapoot. my hubby figures they took it out with my uterous. i had my ovaries left in so that hopefully i wouldnt have any problems as im only now 32. my doc has given me some creams and stuff to try and help with my sex drive, but about 2 months ago during my pap and pelvic i jumped when he went around my left ovary and i mentioned that im having some pain, so he decided to put me on a combination pill that had estrogen for my sex drive but progesteran so that i dont have any new growth from my endo come back. but he told me if i had any pain to stop them and and get in to see him. (i have a great family doc!) he has mentioned that i may need a laperoscopy to see if there is any new growth which he is suspecting there is, but he wants to try a couple of medication options first, as my hysterectomy knocked me on my ***, and i have been diagnosed with celiac disease and a whole host of food and enviromental allergies since. im wondering is there anyone else going or been through this, what are some of the options, and am i looking at surgery down the road to get my ovaries removed, and whats that like, is it recovery like the hysterectomy (I have 4 kids and was not able to take it easy like i should have the first time around) i have a great hubby but he is a man so as much as he tries i cant eat hotdogs and chicken nuggets for 6 weeks this time, and the dust bunnies drove me nuts last time. any thoughts would be really apreciated.
THANKS

I can tell you that I was only off 3 or 4 weeks with my BSO. You'll need to ask your doctor what is an expected recovery time for you. Its very individual.

Sounds like your doctor is doing the prudent thing - medications first and then BSO as a last resort. As a patient, that's what I wanted.

Take care!

Dally099,
My doc was conservative with the hyster due to me being under 30, and left my left ovary in (the right was ruined). That little sucker caused me two years of returned endo, so I just had it out by laparoscopy on Dec 17. In those two years, I had a lap to clean things up, and did two rounds of Lupon (aiyiyi). For some reason, I just couldn't bring myself to say goodbye to that ovary.
My new doc, an onclogist, told me my best chance to kill the endo for good is to deprive it of estrogen long enough for it to die. That means no ovary, no HRT for at least 6 months. So, out it came.
The recovery has been pretty smooth. My DH is a dream, but a lousy cook and cleaner. I can fold laundry from the couch, and the dog eats the dust bunnies. So far, menopause is just a little warm.
I thought I'd be up and around in 2 weeks, but it is taking a little longer. With 4 kids, you're certainly going to have your hands more full than me. I found that stocking the freezer with a few ready-to-heat casseroles and ready to cood dinners worked wonders for easing the chicken nugget/ rice and soy sauce routine.
Good luck with whatever comes- keep us informed!
