Estrogel~~Does it really work? I have noticed no change.

I have been taking an Estrogel (gel that you rub on) for about a year now. I am having MAJOR hotflashes and some night time sweats. I just get all hot and sweaty after a five minute walk. Is there anything on the market similar to the Estrogel that works better?
Ive have a hysterectomy November 2006. I had it all out. Now I have no overies. I am still young and hoping to iron out this prob!

28 in Ontario, Canada. (It may be winter, but it feels like July!)

Have you changed your doseage at all? Or change where you apply the gel? If you have done both, it may be that your body doesn't absorb the gel well. Hrt is not one size fits all. I use a hormone cream and have done really well on it, but that doesn't mean that you will also. You may need to try another method of delivery. I think you should talk with your doctor and see what he/she recommends.

P.S. You can read more about your options for hrt in the articles at www.hormonejungle.com

Estrogel-Lissa

Hi Lissa,

Yes it does work-it's very effective-younger women need more pumps than older women. I had ovaries out at age 38 and I am on four pumps a day-you should check out the early menopause website too as you are so young-it sounds like you need to use more.

I use it AM and PM and alternate sides-you can use it on inner arms, thighs, abdomen, upper buttocks area-

It really is great because you can adapt it easily to your needs-

I tried the patches once and totally freaked out-not easy to adjust dosages, gave me rashes, not easy to add or subtract when you need less or more!

This is just my experience but give Estrogel another try-!
