Bladder infection, 3 weeks post op

Hi sisters,
It's 3:25 a.m. Texas time and I'm awake with a bladder infection. I have no doubt. I know the symptoms, as unfortunately I seem to get them frequently.
I'm three weeks post-op.
Do you suppose it would be okay just to run up to the nearest walk-in clinic as soon as it opens, or do I need to try to track down my surgeon on a Friday, when he only works half days...?

Yup, I'd go to the walk-in clinic or your regular doc to drop off a specimen. They can run the test and get you on antibiotics right away! Sorry your suffering...I am in the midst of a bladder infection myself. I just pray I don't get the dreaded yeast infection along with taking antibiotics! Yuck! Hope you are feeling better soon!

The clnic should be fine, they will run the same test on a sample there. You will probably also want to call your surgeon's office too to let them know.

Either place would be fine but make sure they culture it. I went to my dr. because I knew I had an infection also but they didnt culture it the first time and told me it was negative. Well when the symptoms persisted they had me give another sample and sent it for a culture and it was positive and I have been through two rounds of antibiotics and still have the UTI present along with flank and pelvic pain.
Good luck, I hope that you get relief soon!

If you take over the counter Acidophilus(pro-biotics) with your antibiotics you will most likely avoid a yeast infection. They are found with the vitamins. I take one a day, but if you have symptoms of a yeast infection already take 2 a day.

swelly belly band

I had my TAH on 12/31 but just discovered this site, wish I knew about it pre-op. Anyway I was wondering if I would still benefit from the Swelly Belly Band.
