Pain where ovaries used to be

Hi! I had a total hysterectomy February 23, 2007. Every so often I have pain where my ovaries would be. I tis the same pain I had when I would start my period. What could be causing this pain and why?

Hi Galady, I have experienced that too and I had my TAH/BSO July 20, 2007. Some people call is Phantom Pains, something amputees experience. I was told by others who had a TAH that these pains occur for a while after surgery. I still sometimes feel like I am cramping and my period is about to start too but I know it's not. Anyway, hope that helps.

I also get alot of cramping and pain to. I am trying to get some answer to. Good luck to you both.

I'm sorry that you're having pain.
It may be the phantom pain that lugrad82 mentioned.
But to be on the safe side you should schedule a
doctor's appointment and get the correct answer. I hope all is well!
