Epidural vs PCA Pump for pain control after surgery

I wanted to have an epidural for my surgery, but my doctor said that with a vertical incision, she thinks it would be had to numb all the way up to my diaphram without affecting my breathing. But she did say an epidural would be a good choice for pain control after surgery instead of the PCA pump.

Has anyone had the epidural for pain control after? Thank you!

i didnt have a epidural after or befor. sounds nice cause i remember how helpful it was during labor lol. good luck
