had hysterectomy and bladder sling done but...

I had a hysterectomy done and the cervix was left, because the doctor said that it would cushion the bladder and help the vaginal wall Aug. of 2005. By Jan. of 2007 i was told that i had a mass that looked like cervical carsinoma and my bladder had dropped and the vaginal wall was dropped also and falling out. i had surgery of Feb. 2007. they removed the cervix (which thank god it wasn't cancer) and i had my bladder lifted. They used mesh and tied it to the pelvic bone and the tail bone. Weeks later i went back to the doctor and complained that i had pain in the lower left side of my stomach and my pcp said i had a hernia. the surgeon said no hernis just where the mesh was weaved thru the stomach muscle. well Dec. of 2007 had hernia surgery for the hernia that surgeon said i didnt have. $ days later i was told i had a blod clot in my right lung. Now i am on coumadin for next 6 months and if that not enough i have a hematoma under the hernia incesion, and was just told that my bladder has a hernia and it has shifted down and to the left of my hernia.
My question is what do i do??? Is it possible for the bladder sling to have shifted on its own ,and can you have a hernia on your bladder?
I am at my wits end, fed up, cant handle another surgery.

Jml5--

Wow! You have been through a LOT! We are glad you are still here--truly. It is possible for the mesh material of the bladder sling to be in the wrong place--that's for sure. We have had one sister here who had a horrible time with it in her bladder. Hers was placed there by her first Dr. She had a tough time getting it fixed, I know.

Apparently, it can be possible for it to cause hernias and hematomas because it did with you, didn't it? How are they treating you now? Have they told you a plan for getting rid of the hernias/hematomas?

Mesh erosion and extrusion can be the looooonnngest process on the planet, it seems when one is undergoing it. Bleck, Ick, and Yuck. My original mesh was put in and it wasn't until a year and a half and 3 surgeries AFTER the original one that the nasty stuff was finally gone and no more erosion occurred.

If you do a search here for "mesh" and "bladder" and possibly "tape", I think you will find some helpful posts.

Sending many +++ thoughts and extra good vibes.......

Wow, justmyluck5....you have been and are still going thru alot...I hope your doc is a pelvic floor specialist..uro/gyn...if not, I would definetely suggest seeing one and getting another opinion since it seems this surgeon misdiagnosed your hernia already.....good luck, hopefully you can find someone to help you once and for all...let us know...
