Hernia after a LSH

Went to the Dr. today for my 6 weeks post op. Have been in alot of pain on my left side and have been back once on an emergancy visit when having alot of pain one weekend. Did not see my doctor saw one of his partners, did ultra sounds and blood work but found nothing. When I went in today mydr. said that he looked over the reports and films said that he didn't see anything. After pushing on my stomach and feeling around he said that it was a hernia. It is not very common but waiting a couple of months to see if it may heals itself or we will need to do Laparacopic to repair it. Has anyone else ever had this and if so how did you handle the pain and discomfort while you waited it out?

I'm sorry you're experiencing this but you'll find you're not alone as there are ladies on the site who can relate, and I hope they'll be along soon to share.

In the meantime, if you try a "search" (click third from the right, on the purple bar, towards the top of this page) you'll find plenty of posts to read through. Here's a link to one thread to start you off: http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...ghlight=hernia.

Wishing you all the best and I hope you're feeling better, very soon. Take care!

Hernia after a LSH

i had an area of swelling that i thought for sure was a hernia..near my belly button. when i called about some bleeding i was having, the dr said he wanted to see me. i agreed and said i thought i had a hernia i wanted him to look at also. his reply was..i seriously doubt you have a hernia, i am VERY careful to make sure you wont get one. i thought for sure he was wrong, but he wasnt that one area looked just like one (i've had one before). it was just a localized area of swelling that went away on its one, long after i felt recovered. i hope whatever you have goes way like mine did.
