sore throat and surgery

Ugh, it's always something. I have surgery Monday and I don't feel very good. I had bad headaches this week and choked it up to stress but now I have a headache and a sore throat. If it just stays at this level can they still do surgery? I'm trying to drink a lot and just rest but now I'm freaking out that they won't be able to do the surgery and that will screw up so much. Has anyone else had this before surgery and what happened? Oh man, what a drag......

Hello,
I think you are doing the right thing by resting and pushing the fluids. Are you running a fever? I would see how I am doing Sunday, and give the Dr on call a ring.
Again , it's the wait and see game to see if this gets worse.
Get Well.

I'd go ahead and give the dr a call. It may be due to stress but it may be that you're getting ill. It really is important that you not take chances. I got the sniffles before my tah/bso. I was told that unless I was having trouble breathing or running a fever that surgery would proceed.

Best wishes, i hope that it all works out for you

Did the Dr say what would prevent you from having the surgery? Have you been taking anything to help your symptoms? The good news right now is it hasn't gone to my lungs, just a headache and sore throat. I don't like orange juice but I have been drinking it to help. UGGGHHHHHHHH!@#$$#$%%$% At least now my mind is off the possible cancer outcome from all of this. I'm with you on the prayers.....for all of us.

I think fever and coughing are his big concerns. So far no fever but I am coughing some. He told me to treat it like I normally would except I can't take any Mortrin only Tylenol. I take alot of allergery meds and asthma stuff already so there isn't to much extra I could add. I had thought he might want me to start an antibotic but he didn't say anything about it and I forgot to ask.
