picking fights

Its not that I'm the one picking fights but my SO is. So much so that he has begun the moving out phase. My hyst was 12/7 and to say the holidays were stressful is an understatement. We have a 2 family house and one daughter (27) and her son (15 mo) live upstairs. Last week the 27 year old was diagnosed with chicken pox. She has been a great help to me but now is in need of help herself. She had put out an sos call to my other daughter who lives about 4 hours away. Remember none of us but my SO have had any childhood disease. I told the faraway daughter to stay put. SO feels thats a good idea but really picked a big fight with me over the whole drain on the family my surgery and recuperation have caused. Like I said he has one foot out the door. Is this the best time for this move? Quite possibly. While I was in the hospital I told him it would be a good time for him to move out but now that he is I'm having second, and third thoughts. To say my house is a pressure cooker is being kind. I had a meltdown a couple of weeks ago and felt totally alone so maybe it is best that I am (alone). I have not been on this sight since 12/28. Today is 1/18. I feel like I'm losing control and nobody has to pick a fight....the fight is there, ripe and ready to fall from the family tree. Any input?

Feel like I'm losing control ...

dreamdyl, I am so sorry you have to go through so much stress. It just seems like life can suck at times and I don't know what to say except I'm sorry you are going through all of this. What happened with your daughter? Did your SO take care of her? I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Let us know what happened.

of course I took care of my daughter, and my grandson with rsv, AND my husband who even though had begun the moving out process, got sick and came "home" for tlc.....what about me. I see my doc next week but I totally don't feel ready to go back to work. What I really need is a vacation but I can't find anyone to carry my luggage!!

Feel like I'm losing control ...

Hi dreamdyl
Bless your heart. It sounds like it's been very stressful at your house. I know it's hard when family 'need' us. I think a lot of women fall into this because they just can't make themselves put themselves first.

I want to encourage you to take the weekend and rest, really rest. Tell everyone that you need to be able to know what to tell the dr next week so you need time to gather yourself together. Get off your feet and see how you feel when you've had a little time to yourself to reflect on what your body is telling you.

At 7 wks you should be pretty well healed, but be sure to tell the dr you haven't really been able to rest. Another week, if you take care of yourself, might get you over the hump and feeling much more ready to get back to work. It isn't unusual to feel tired at first. Most women have to adjust back into the work routine, but it would be nice if you could feel a little more refreshed before you do.

I'm sorry about the relationship struggles you've been having. It was such unfortunate timing too. Right now I hope you'll put yourself first and just don't engage in any of it. You need to think about yourself and make sure you are ok physically. Whatever decisions you need to make about all the other will be easier to handle if you do.

's, Rita

Feel like I'm losing control ...

March is here and I'm happy to say that things have fallen back into place...including my bowels which seemed to take a long time finding their way home. Daughter is over chicken pox, grandson is healthy, faraway daughter has since visited and the best news is that SO and I took a long weekend trip to Cape Cod to reconnect. I returned to work and now things seem really "back to normal"
Thank you all for the words of support and comfort.
Now to begin the next phase of my life with NO more periods!!!! woohoo
cause to celebrate indeed
thank you all again
