(Kept Ovaries) Did your PMS lessen or increase?

My PMS seems to have stayed the same after my TAH (waaaah). Although I don't bleed or cramp (yeaaah) I still get bloated, constipated and irritable. And now it seems like it's coming every 2 weeks. So does that mean my ovaries are working OVERTIME? I know, we're never satisfied, are we?

You're not very much before my surg date. I have my post op today so will try and remember to ask my Dr. I'm also interested in how our ovaries and hormones react now. I felt totally at ease while they were waking up the first weeks after surgery and now feel like I'm on a rollercoaster of emotions, bloating, etc.

I found that for the first several months my hormones were basically nuts! I had menopause symptoms and PMS symptoms all mixed together! It was quite the roller coaster ride!

Once it all settled down, I had more PMS than prior to my hysterectomy, but I had been on the birth control pill for years to help with my cycles. Then my PMS decreased in that I didn't have it every month. Now over the last couple years my PMS is very minimal.

When I was having stronger symptoms, my GYN told me I could take the mini birth control pill to help. Since you are only a few months out, you might want to wait awhile longer to see if things settle down. If you find your symptoms are still strong, talk to your doctor about your options!
