told today no 6 week check?

I posted on an earlier post that we did not have 2 week checks here in the uk, well today when i called the drs to find out what date my 6 week check was for my TAH, they told me my surgeon does not do checks any more and unless i have problems i was discharged.
I was really horrified and scared about this and promptly said i was not happy with this and i more or less demanded a date for a 6 week check, the receptionist said she would speak to my surgeon and get back to me tomorrow, I know i may be panicking about nothing, but i need to see them just to tell me hopefully everything is healing ok and that im doing well, i already worry if the aches and pains and twinges i get now are normal. sorry to moan on but it really shocked me.
hope everyone is doing ok

Hi Tracies123,
I sure do understand your discomfort about not getting a check up. I hope your doc agrees to one when they call you back. If you have any concerns, call the office as each arises, maybe then they will understand your concern about healing. You are absolutely right that we need to know things are healing as they should. Positive news is just as important as follow ups for problems. Do you work? Do you need a release to return to work? This is also a reason for a checkup. Best wishes.
