Problems with post-op intimacy

I had the all clear last week...we made an attempt over the weekend and it was disastrous...even with lubrication, I was in the right frame of mind, everything...I had sever prolapse, and evidently a lot of vaginal reconstruction...one side of the vaginal canal is rough and painful, the other side is smooth like presurgery...what is that all about?? I'm afraid I'll never want to have sex again, and I'm 41---at the "peak", right? I didn't bargain for any of this!

I noticed the same feeling in my vagina, I am 4 weeks post op and haven't had sex yet but I did notice that one side of my vagina feels smooth and the other rough. I am assuming it is related to the posterior repair I had done. I hope it does get better, I feel like I don't know my own body anymore and am scared the first time I have sex again will be a nightmare. I am 35, I am glad I'm not alone.

It does feel like I woke up in someone elses body...and I don't like it...hard to not feel "duped" or "tricked"...I too had posterior repair...I wish I had a better picture of what really happened in there!! Oh well, I hope it will get better as we go along.
