Hi. I have had a low grade fever of 99.3 on and off for the last 3 weeks. I have a small infection on one end of my incision that is now being treated with antibiotics. Does your incision look unusually red or swollen anywhere or is there any oozing anywhere? If so...you may have an infection starting. Otherwise...I read that if your temp gets to be over 100...you should contact the doctor but maybe for peace of mind.., you should mention it to your doctor anyhow. Good Luck!

I also would like to add that if you do feel you may have an infection you should get treatment right away. I have had some oozing and now I have a very tiny opening where my stitches were. Not sure if both are related but will find out tomorrow at dr. apptmt.

My doctor told me that I could possibly have a low grade fever of 99 to 100 but if it reached 101 or above to call, but you know your body better than anyone else and if you feel you have an infection, you should call your doctor. I will be praying for you!!!

Thankyou for the replies DH just helped me to look but one large long stitch and stickie strips all look good and dry, so maybe it's just me being hot

I had a little bit of a fever on my second night home (day 4 post-op) of 100, and it was gone by morning, no other symptoms. My instructions were to call for a temp of 101 or above so I sneaked by. I believe a small increase in temp is just a normal part of the inflammatory process.

anything over 100 is usually considered a fever...did you get discharge papers? they might tell you to call your dr if you have a fever of over 100. if you dont feel well, you might want to make an appt with your dr for a recheck.

It sure wouldn't hurt to call your doc's office. If you do have the start of an infection, the sooner it's treated, the better. Take care and keep us posted.
