Unhappy - Hotflashes, need some help? Hotflashes, need some help?

Hi,

I just started a new hormone regime last week. Serum blood estrogen was a 10. I m experiencing hotflashes early in the morning and late at night but pretty good during the day. Why am I experincing them early in the am? Is this normal? I thought once I started these would end.

Hotflashes, need some help?

Hi Flameglow,
I have hot flashes in the evening and the worst are always in the morning. I change into different outfits until I don't feel hot anymore. My husband just shakes his head and walks out of the bedroom. And he thought PMS was bad! You may want to try this, it has helped me some. Take a cooler shower in the morning. I love taking hot showers in the morning but it makes me burning hot afterwards. I have noticed a difference with the cooler water.
You mentioned you just started taking a new hormone regiment; give it some time. You have to build up your hormone levels and unfortunately,it doesn't happen overnight. Give it about 4-6 weeks. I just started taking bio identical hormones a couple of days ago. The doctor gave me Bi-Estrogen 2.5mg and a progesterone cream, I don't know what strength. I'm hoping the brain fog will lift along with the insomnia. I'll take hot flashes over the insomnia. And as far as hot flashes at night, I use the ceiling fan, stand up fan, and I open a window. (Poor hubby freezes butt off. ) I use cotton sheets and I sleep in light weight cotton jammies. Best wishes from a fellow "hot" sister!
