2.3 cm cyst and thigh pain- related?

I had a hysterectomy about 5 years ago but kept my ovaries. I have had leg pain (thighs-more so in my right thigh) for 7 months now. I have been to every doctor under the sun and had every test done. The last was a lumbar MRI that showed a 2.3 cyst on my right side- could i have found the answer? Do cysts cause leg pain? Could it be on a nerve? Or is it not big enough. You guys were a big help 5 years ago and I am hoping you can help me now. Has anyone else had leg pain due to ovarian cysts? Any help is appreciated. Thank you. I have an appt. with my gyno but am anxious to hear from you.

I have a 5.0 x 5.1 cm complex cyst on my right ovary and I also have pain a that radiates into my hip and down my right thigh. It also bothers me up in my right rib cage and around my back. My dr. acts like the cyst is no big deal. I have an appt with my regular dr. in a couple weeks and I am going to ask about it then.

There is a thread here that is title "Please share your ovarian cysts symptoms" if you check it out I think a lot of people have similar symptoms.

Good luck. Hope you find your answer. I would check with your gyn.

Hi landy3,

Yes, my cyst definitely caused hip and thigh pain, in addition to back and pelvic pain. I just had it removed and even though it only showed 7.7 cm on the ultrasound, it was actually the size of a grapefruit! I'm sure an MRI is more accurate than ultrasound, but sometimes the small ones can be the most bothersome. Especially if they are on a nerve!

Good luck...and make them hear you!

Hi...I get smaller cysts 2cm - 3cm and have leg pain because of it. I believe it is very common. My leg pain varies from an bad ache like "growing pains" to an electrical tingly feeling. It typically goes down the front to inside of my leg. Good Luck.
