scar tissue

Hi Sisters
I am 2 years post op TAH &LSO and I have been getting pain - not constant but still painful along my scar - not done too much about it as my GP told me it would be everything growing back! However I have been for my well woman consult and the nurse advised that all should be back to normal now although it could be scar tissue of which there is nothing that can be done? Have recently started doing lots of walking and I get pain in my rectum after about 6 miles - any ideas
I am sorry to say that I had forgotten about this website and have just received my email from HS to remind me its my anniversary - thanks Hystersisters - please keep up the good work you were very important to me in the early days pre and post op - love you all xxx

scar tissue

Hi cribqueen5...It is also my 2 year hysterversary....
I have been dealing with scar tissue/adhesions for about a year. My gyn sent me to this physical therapist whom was specifically trained to target adhesions. I went twice a week for about 6 weeks. At the time it was painful, very painful. I even ended up in the ER after about the 5th week in extreme pain. There was fluid in the cul-de-sac however they found nothing else. Anyway....at the time I didn't think that it would work but was willing to try anything. I must admit that, in general, I feel really good now. I do have days that they bother me to the point that I just pop some meds and kick back. Those days don't happen often thank goodness... It was a year ago that I did the physical therapy.
My gyn said that adhesions are like a new rubber band, stiff and tight. Any movement or stress on them and you feel it BIG TIME. The PT was to help them relax and stretch them out....kind of like making them into an old rubber band.
Hope all of this helps and good luck to you all.....

My surgery was a LAVH. I have 3 small incision marks that are not numb. I had some adhesions from the endo and cysts and my gyn removed during my surgery. They came back with a vengance.....But like I said I generally feel good.
I do although suffer from frequent yeast infections. Rarely got them before surgery.... now I get like 3-5 a year. ??????
I do not know if nerves can grow back....or at least heal so the numbness goes away.... hugs to you.....
