Aching joints 4 months post op

Is anyone else experiencing aching joints? I'm 4 months post op and for the last 3-4 weeks I feel about 90 years old. My feet, ankles, knees, hips, shoulders and elbows all ache. Sometimes I lie in bed for an hour before I can get comfortable enough to fall asleep.

Is this a menopausal thing?

Susan,
I am 6 months post op and I too feel like I'm 90!!! It is worse when there is a drastic change in temperature or weather patterns. After I work out, I hobble around and moan & groan.
Anyone else having the same issues???

I have arthritis so these issues sound like normal...not far enough post op to tell you if it's worse now.
I wanted to suggest you try increasing your omega-3s...add a fish oil suppliment. I use salmon oil tablets at the suggestion of my GYN instead of regular fish oil- that yucky "fish burp" is greatly reduced! I started the suppliments at her suggestion because of vaginal dryness. I noticed the bigger benefit to my aching joints- I can tell if I've been off it even just a couple of days.

I also take Omega 3's and glucosamine - gets rid of the joint pain for me. If i forget for 2 or 3 days comes right back !!!

Ohiocatlover,
Try freezing your fish oil pills. It helps elminate the "fish burp" and helps if you tend to get gas after taking them.

Great tip, Menoherone, thank you!
The salmon oil seems to do the trick, but they can be hard to find. Now I'll know what to try if I can't get them!

Thanks for the great suggestions. I just went to the Chiropractor. I haven't been for about a year. My neck and shoulders tend to get really tight and sore. (With surgery, my daughter's wedding, husband's campaign for City Council and sending my son off to college for the first time I kind of let some things slip this past year). Anyway, after only two adjustments I can feel the difference in my joints!

How much of the omega 3 do you ladies take?

I kept my ovaries, but have experienced joint pain since my surgery. I've had one acupuncture treatment, which helped a lot with my elbow. I am also taking glucosamine daily, and have found that it helps, too.
