post-op hot flashes, still have one ovary

Hi everyone,

tomorrow is start of 4 wks and the hot flashes that had disappeared for a couple days during week 2 have come back and they are so bad.

It seems like they are happening at least once per hour, then the night sweats start before I even fall completely asleep now. Help!!!

I have started drinking soy milk and looked up foods to incorporated in my diet but they are for the most part foods I have already been eating for years.

Does anyone have any suggestions that has helped them while waiting for the one Ovary to get up to speed

I just started hot flashes today, had my right ovary removed 3 days ago. Thought it was kind of soon, but..... Hopefully the other one will pick up speed so we don't have to go through the menopause symptoms before our time!

I had my hyst in November of 2006 and had crazy hot flashes after about six months. I read that taking 800 iu of vitamin E can help, so I tried it.
Within the week the hot flashes stopped, and I haven't had them since.
Please speak with your doctor before you do this, though, and get his okay. Vitamin E can thin one's blood, and is not healthy for some. It was either an amazing coincidence, or it worked great for me!
