Daughter with Moderate Dysplasia

My daughter was diagnosed with moderate dysplasia and will have a biopsy this Thursday to find out what further action will need to take place. She told me last night that she has not had a period in 4 months but had spotting maybe for about a couple of hours to a half day. Is this normal? I called her dr since my daughter gave her permission for me to talk with dr and dr did not seem to concerned. I am.

Any advice helpful.

Daughter with Moderate Dysplasia

I had moderate cervical dysplasia twice - but I would not say there was anything abnormal about my periods during that.

I did end up electing to have a total hysterectomy to treat my dysplasia - since I had been dealing with it for 5 years on and off.

Daughter with Moderate Dysplasia

While it probably is concerning to you that your daughter is having inconsistent/light periods, it probably is not related to the dysplasia. That would not be a typical response. It is probably due to something else. It could be that she's just having irregular periods (as young women are known to do). If she's on birth control pills, it could be related to that. Female hormones are a strange thing at times. I'm sure if she brings the topic up to her doctor he will look into it to determine what the issue is.

I hope the biopsy brings back good information with a clear course of action for your daughter. We'd love to "meet" her if she'd like to join and get some support here.
