Scared--Left ovary cyst, cancer concerns, kids mentioned

I have finally made it to a computer. I am scared, and alone. I have my kids by my side and I don't want to let them go. The Doc, removed my uterus, and the cyst on the ovary, and we are waiting on the biopsy report. I am 31 have 2 wonderful boys and a DH of almost 15 yrs. I never did any research on ovary cysts and cancer. Are ovary cysts and cancer usually linked?? I do feel a little better. My body aches are gone. I do have chills. Sweats. I still have the HEMOVAC attached. Really this week, when it rained, IT POURED!! Everything went from bad to worse. My baby sitter let my dog upstairs, I spent all day yesterday puking because I could smell it. All my couches are outside. I hired a clean up crew yesterday. So things are looking(smellin) better. I feel like my life i flashing infront of my eyes. Can cysts be NON CANCEROUS??

Scared and concernd

(((Shirley))) Cysts are usually non-cancerous. Since the cyst has already been removed so there's nothing that can be done right now, maybe it's best to just try to wait for the pathology report before worrying about cancer? It sounds like you have enough to deal with just with normal recovery issues without this fear.

If you want to read up a little on cysts, this is a good starting place

Please let your doc know that you have chills and sweats--you may have an infection that is causing fever and that needs an antibiotic.

Try not to worry! I know thats hard to do but I spent a couple of months worrying about the cyst on my ovary and the Dr. even thought it was ovarian cancer and it turned out to be a chocolate cyst (endometriosis). I didn't even know I had endo. Thank God! So yes, most cyst are benign. Try not to panic!

I have PCOS and had a "monster" cyst as the nurse called it removed over 10 years ago. And then last year I had my left ovary along with a tumor within turmor removed. The cyst was 6 cm and solid. But as someone else mentioned cyst are almost always benign. I had my uterus and remaining ovary removed last month and I am so happy to have gotten rid of my remaining ovary! (My dr. told me that it had cysts!) I hope this helps.
