How do you feel when estrogen is right?

Hi, I have a question, and I hope I don't sound stupid, but How do you feel when your estrogen is right, or balanced... besides no hot flashes...
I have read alot of women say that, I thought it would not be right intill you added progesterone too.... Thanks.....

How do you feel when estrogen is right?

Hi With all three hormones balanced, I feel nothing! By that I mean, nothing feels wrong; I feel pretty much the way I did before the surgery, and don't notice any symptoms of any kind.

When I was working on just balancing estrogen, without progesterone and testosterone, when I got to the right dosage I stopped having heart palpitations, headaches, anxiety, insomnia and a jittery electric buzzing feeling that I get on low estrogen (I don't get actual "hot" flashes). If you get hot flashes, that is a good indicator.

I hope this helps.

How do you feel when estrogen is right?

I really wasn't having any. I started taking it because I was worried about a breast cancer recurrence, so I didn't want to be taking unopposed estrogen just in case (this was before the info came out that said that unopposed estrogen doesn't cause breast cancer, just accelerates its growth).

However, some women start taking it because they are having problems with insomnia and water retention. You may want to refer to our list of symptoms of too much and too little of all three hormones (including progesterone):

edited to add: Yes, I started on Climara at the hospital. I switched to Vivelle dot about a month later because the Climaras weren't staying on so well. I didn't feel that great at first, and also had the idea I should be trying to reduce my dose, which was the wrong thing to do; by the time I was six months post op I was feeling pretty bad. It took a visit to the ER to convince me that what I really needed was to go back to the dose of patch my DR had originally put me on (0.1mg/day); I have been fine ever since.

How do you feel when estrogen is right?

Hi, Juniek

I don't take progesterone. Haven't found I needed it, so far, but I did try it and I couldn't shake the sleepiness in the a.m. , or the depression it caused for me.

right now, I feel really good and this is what I've found works for me: FemRing, .3 enjuvia, 1/2 estratest HS.

What it feels like when its right: 1. I sleep. 2. I don't cry over commerical. 3. I don't crawl down peoples throat at the slightest provatcion. 4. my memory is right on track, like it used to be. 5. my libido will never be like it was in my 20s, but I can at least now respond. 6.I have the energy and willingness to exercise again. 7. I'm more sociable. 8. my skin and throat aren't dry any longer. 9. my appetite is in control. 10. I once again enjoy the things I used to.

having it right, doesn't make me feel like I'm younger or anything like that...it makes me feel kinda' like I did about a week after the menstrual flow when it was all more normal.

How do you feel when estrogen is right?

Hi, You said you didn't feel that good on Climara when you first started it, and had the idea to lower the dose.. How did you feel , if you could remeber
I know it was a while ago....
I am looking for how women feel at first and the feelings that go away after awhile, when ever I tell my dr. how I feel she always says your just sensitve, that's when I panic and lower it myself thinking the syptoms will always be like that... Like Achyness it is a deep down achyness in side all over, I even had it with progesterone.... I do know I feel different everyday with the patch... I am asking the dr. for Elestrin, and I told myself DON"T change the dose... Thanks for all your help..
God Bless

No, I said it didn't stick well. I felt fine, aside from the normal new post op stuff. I thought I should lower my dose because it was back in 2002 when the WHI study results first came out and the media made it sound like everyone should get off of estrogen altogether. I elected to try to wean myself down to a very low dose, and it was the wrong choice for me. Once I realized that and went back to the original dose, I was fine.
