Fever comes....fever goes....

Has anyone had this problem? I've already made my many different complaints from pooping, peeing, and disgusting drainage. I'm sick of it.

I tried to force my self to up and about today. I don't mean that I did dishes or cleaned the bathroom....all I did today was poop (twice), took a 1/2 a block walk, and went downstairs for a bowl of cereal. That cannot possibly be too much activity. Holy cow!!!!

The complaint of the moment is this **** fever. It linger form almost normal 98.9 to 100.5. My discharge instructions say to return for fever of 100.4. But the fever isn't consistent. I get hot, I take the 800 mg. of ibuprofen, it goes down. 6-8 hours it starts all over. Plus, my body simply aches all over.

I gave birth to three babies ranging from 11 lbs. to 13 lbs. at birth and had an open cholestectomy (gall bladder removal for stones before they did it laparoscopically)....plus other minor surgeries. I have NEVER experienced anything like this.

if you have a fever above 100.4 without ibuprofen, you should call your dr. i hope you feel better really soon.

Fever comes....fever goes....

Unfortunately, the fever does hover around 100.4 if I don't take the Motrin. It is 800 mg. so it does seem to work. It takes about an hour or more for it to really bring the fever down under the 100 degree mark. Unfortunately after that 8 hour mark on the Motrin the fever creeps back up to the 100.4 mark, maybe a little higher. Still having some trouble peeing. However, the pain seems to have disapated. Honestly, I'm just trying to get through to tomorrow night....I'll email the nurse pracitioner who is part of my medical team and see if she wants me to come in on Monday and see her and the chief resident who is covering for my doc. My doc is out for spring break with her family this week -- I really don't want to disturb her, even though she told me I could. I think the odds are pretty good I'll be dragging my broken down body to the Naval Hospital Woman's Clinic early Monday morning.

Here's to a good evening to all.......

Remember that the motrin will bring your fever down...so your fever isn't going down naturally. I'd at least call your doctor and talk to the doctor/nurse and see what they think you should do, even if she is on vacation.

Hope that it dissipates soon!

Fever comes....fever goes....

I just sent my email to the chief resident and the nurse practictioner who have been working my case with my doc, as well as a cc: to my doc. I'm not sure if she is checking email while she is on leave but if she does, she'll see it and advise me. If not, one of the other two will. It may not be 'til Monday morning but we'll see what their response is.

I just don't see any benefit of going to the ER. I wouldn't let those children touch me anyway. :-)
