Surgery the 27th - I have a sore throat

I had some dental work done this afternoon with lots of numbing. When it wore off this evening I noticed I had a sore throat. 3 hours later it's still there and getting more sore.

If catch a cold are they going to tell me I can't have the surgery this Thursday? It's been going around our office but I've already caught it once and did a round of antibiotics last month.

Obviously if I wake up with a sore throat I'll be on it first thing tomorrow morning. Just wondered if anyone was on line this evening and had any thoughts or input.

Thanks.

They will make sure that you are healthy enough for the surgery prior to letting you have it. Hopefully, it's just from the dental work though! I had a minor cold and allergies when I got my TAH and my doc said I was fine. The worst part of it was coughing or sneezing post-op. It was bearable but not fun. Just trust your doc, if you trust the doc enough to do a hyst on you, trust that they will make sure you're ok enough to do the surgery in the first place Good luck sweetie!

Thanks Much - I'll just have to deal with is. But I would sure hate to see it all scrachted with a cold. If it's scratched I'll have to postpone 1-2 months outs. I'll try to think positively that it's a minor something or another. Hmm...maybe if I went to bed and got some rest?
