I didn't get a pelvic exam until my 6 week post op check. It really depends on the doctor though. My 2 week visit, and my 4 week visit were basically to see if I had any questions and to see how I was doing "mentally".

I just went to my three week apt. on Tuesday and he checked me! I was like you and didn't really think I was up for any thing going near there. It didn't hurt though I guess it is all still to numb. What hurt me was him poking my ab muscle to make sure it was still attached and was working that hurt like crazy. I have to go back in two more weeks what he will do then is beyond me. The thing was after the apt. I had cramping and was worn out to a T!!! I feel a bit on the yucky side but I also have a UTI so that could be part of it. Anyway Good luck to ya.

I have my second visit next week and he'll be doing an internal..can't wait for that. Like you, I really am not in a hurry for anyone poking around down there. Hopefully, he'll take care of these freaking stitches poking out of incisions.
Good luck.

I went for my second on Monday which was 4 week. Was not real crazy about exam that soon but lasted few seconds and did not hurt at all, just looking to see if everything ok, then came the pushing on the outside and that hurt but not like it used to. Not too bad all in all. i guess it depends on your gyn.

WOW all I get is one 6 week checkup! My doc doesn't need to see me before then. Which is fine with me!

what to expect on 2nd post doctor visit..

Hi,

I cant imagine someone pushing on my belly right now its so tender and swollen!!!!

I hope all he does is look at my incision.. which by the way, since he used this glue instead of stitches, my incision looks weird because there is this white glue like on top and I am not sure is the glue or dried vaseline which he told me to put some last week to prevent my belly from sticking.

wonder how many doctors use the glue instead of stitches..

I had a TAH on March 10 with a tummy tuck which left me with an incision from hip to hip under the bikini line. No stitches or staples. i also had glue or a clear "tape" substance. This was done by a plastic surgeon after the hyst was done so it must be the best way since a plastic surgeon would use the best. So far, scar looks great!

blessings,

Hello, I had a 3 week post-op check for a popped stitch and yes she did an internal exam. I hope your recovery has gone smoothly and maybe an internal exam won't be nessesary until 6 weeks post-op. I can tell you that after this exam I was in bed for the rest of the day with painkillers. It is painful so soon after surgery. I wish you the best. keep us posted
