Slow Moving Sunday April 13

Well, DS and friend have been here all weekend, so I've been cooking like I haven't cooked in forever!!!!! And most of it I can't even eat.

I feel as if I've GAINED weight this week and that would be pitiful for all the things I HAVEN'T eaten.

Tomorrow, I'll know for sure!!

Have a wonderful day everyone...we've got THAT FOUR LETTER WORD on the ground here, Melissa.

TAKE CARE EVERYONE!!

Slow Moving Sunday April 13

Good morning my BEST friends!

If I hurry with this post it will still actually be morning for me.

I've been OP so far today. DH and I split a thin crust pizza last night, but it seems to have done me no real harm this morning.

I'll get in my walk in this rare Michigan sunshine, although I think I'll need weighted shoes to keep from blowing away.

I'm planning all OP foods for the day, unless DH gets other plans in his head. Then who knows. Sometimes we just take off for no real reason and end up stopping some place that strikes our fancy. I will be mindful.

Nanno...we had that dreaded white stuff on the deck this morning, but it seems to have all disappeared now.

Have a BEST OP day everyone!

Morning All!

Just realized I haven't posted (or journaled for that matter) since Wednesday! YIKES! Life got in the way...but I've been a pretty good girl (except for the official exercise). I'll be back on the bike today...need to start getting some good habits going for the Challenge!

I'm off to a rather odd start again today...no real appetite, so I skipped my usual breakfast. I'm a little worried about eating this way, but the McKenna plan is to retrain yourself to sense actual hunger and then satisfy it. I've never been a big breakfast eater anyway. We'll see.

I have learned some things about myself that I find interesting. I was taking extremely small bites of my food. I know this now, because chewing those little morsels 20 times was just impossible. LOL I think I was doing that because I was eating too quickly and unconsciously...not really enjoying or tasting the food. Since slowing down, taking bigger bites and chewing 20+ times, I do indeed fill up quicker on less food and feel full and satisfied much longer. I'm finding I'm not hunting for that mid afternoon snack until it's time to start dinner, and usually a piece of fruit is holding me over until meal time.

I have been more active than ever, but haven't found time in the last several days for formal exercise (my bike). I feel good and weight is maintained. NO Cravings! Amazing!

Breakfast (over a two hour period)...tea followed by a string cheese
Lunch...a brown rice casserole made with lowfat cheese soup, a tiny bit of ham and tons of broccoli
Snack...fruit
Dinner...out...unsure at this time, but promise to be mindful
Snack...if I need it, Cheerios

Nanno...You're doing so well, but I don't know what you're eating?? Just a sample menu? If you've said no to temptation AND (here's the biggie) your clothes are feeling loose, you'll see a loss!! GOOD WORK!!!

Nancy...I held onto the snow with both hands for as long as I could! Sounds like a little slipped away...sorry! Glad to know it's disappearing as fast as it comes! We have sunshine here too...just beautiful!

Barri...Just found out yesterday that my cousin doesn't just have an underactive thyroid...it's gone. Poor thing! She's been trying to work, but can only manage to work part time now...one day on (if she can make it through a whole day) and one day off. She's going to see a specialist this week to see what can be done! I hope you can get to the bottom of your fatigue soon, too. I'm thinking of you!

Well...off to get lunch on the table. ENJOY YOUR DAY everybody!

Slow Moving Sunday April 13

Hi's to Nanno, Nancy & PJ, and anyone else checking in late today!
I've been up since 3:30 this a.m.(DH off to the airport & overseas again) and ate breakfast at 4:00 (Kashi & yogurt), and amazingly did not eat again til after church...but it's like i can't stop!
Had chili & baked potato, AND a frosty.
Will eat extra light tonight. Have the ESL class with the unknown foods arriving!
Exercise has been nothing so far. Will get on the bike after class.(Don't want to shower again before leaving!)

Nanno & Nancy - there are rumors that you are sending that 4letter word white stuff THIS way????? Please don't be so generous. We're to be in the 70's by later this week.
PJ - are you on a "real bike" or exercise version? I've been on the Ex. bike regularly since January. DD, DSiL, & DS have all purchased good "real" bikes and have been burning up the pavement! They should all be in great shape by the end of the summer. I'm going to get DS's old bike down and start using that. It's in good shape so I hope I will also be in good shape by the end of summer!

Later all.

Slow Moving Sunday April 13

Hi All

No *now No *now NOOOO *now!!! I say NO!!

Today started out cooler and but later turned cold, windy, cloudy again. Come on spring - what happened to you? Not supposed to get up to 60F for us till Wed they say. Weather guessers...... geezzzz! Then at about 6:30 the sun came back out and the wind died. Made our walk a bit better.

Bkft: 1 egg scrambled w/mushrooms & swiss, hot tea
Lunch: crock of french onion soup w/hot tea
Dinner: 1 (one) 4" slice chicken/veggie lasagna, side salad 1 slice garlic bread, iced tea
Snack: hot tea and I just had 2 Pepperidge Farms cookies But they were on sale. Doesn't that negate the calories? LOL.

We took Baby out to her first official car cruise today. And the season begins. :steer: I enjoyed it a LOT. Only strolling around there - so neighbor and I got in about 1.5 mile walk this evening before dark. So I feel pretty good considering the 2 cookies I just ate. They are all gone now - won't be calling my name any longer.

I'm not sure about you all - but with my 18 & 23 yr olds at home we still buy a few "snack" type items when we shop. We don't buy potato chips - DD's usually only eat the baked tortilla chips so that's not bad at all - or pretzels. But I do buy some cookies and that's my temptation. But the 2 DD at home don't have major wt issues - 1 is really thin and beautifully shaped. I can only dream.....the other could stand to lose a few, but not bad at all.

PT - BK and Wendy's chili - I've never checked the nutruition on them. Since my gastric bypass almost 4 yrs ago - chili always sits well for me - much better than hamburgers. Go figure. It's still all ground beef. I haven't had much trouble with sodium so it's not normally a worry for me any longer. If I get puffy - usually a couple days of sensible eating and water flush me out. At least I hope it continues to work.

Hugs to you tomorrow - we'll be keeping you in our thoughs and prayers. Hoping Hatrickdog is home by now and doing well.

Night all -
M.
