Hi!

Has your doctor given you any restrictions or guidelines to follow as you recover? If not, can you call to find out exactly what you are and are not allowed to do? Even though you may feel fine, damage can be done to healing tissues which could result in complications such as adhesions. You'll find some good guidelines to follow in this link: Post-Op Page.

My doctor fully approved of walking for an activity. Lifting things heavier than a gallon of milk wasn't allowed, nor was vacuuming, frequent stair climbing, driving, etc. Another thing on the "no" list was any type of sexual activity until after the six week checkup.

As for when you will feel back to normal, that depends on the type of surgery you had and how well you heal. My doctor told me to expect it to take about a year to feel back to normal--and that turned out to be quite accurate! Healing well takes time so be sure you are getting the rest you need.

I hope all goes well for you!
