da Vinci hysterectomy scheduled

This information was very informative and encouraging. I will be having a LAVH(da Vinci) on 4-30-08.With each day I catch myself being more and more apprehensive, but what do you do??? I have a good support system-dh plans to take some time off, dd nearby as well as sisters.
I am sure the day of the surgery I will be an emotional mess!!! Will have to do some more poking around the site-new here.

The apprehension is normal. When I was waiting to be wheeled into surgery, I had to fight the urge to yell "I change my mind!" but here I am 4 days after the surgery, and I'm so glad I went through with it. I'm doing well enough to go to the movies today, and I haven't had any painkiller stronger than Advil in two days. And I'm a big wimp.

I have five tiny punctures in my abdomen. They are sealed with "steri-strips", so there aren't even any stitches to worry about. My advice would be to listen to your body and rest when you're tired. I take a nap every afternoon, and I think that's part of the reason I'm doing so well.

Soon you'll be on this side of the surgery and it will all be behind you.
