Questions about Premarin

Hi had the above went back to work on the 31/03/08 feel shattered all the time, went back to hospital on the 15th April had to beg for HRT, they never asked if i was back at work, I work 40 hrs a week am on Premarin .625 have been taking it since feel that I have a little more energy but also think it is more in my head cant kick in that quick can it?

Am still having hot flushes, but will give it a while before I go back to docs, thats if I can get an appointment?

Does anyone know if it makes you put on weight

I would give the hrt a couple of weeks or so. I don't think hrt causes weight gain, but I do think having the surgery changes our body and therefore, we need to change our eating habits, and exercise to help with this change .

If you read the PDR or drug facts insert, weight gain and fluid retention are both side effects of premarin.

I took it for two weeks, beginning 4 weeks post-op. Before my surgery I lost 77 pounds and wanted to get back on track to my 100 pound goal. Following my food plan and getting back into my regular routine I have not lost the five pounds I gained while recovering (my uterus weighed 4.5 pounds).

I have talked to my regular physician about the Vivelle dot. She is going to do some research for me (she is also a PharmD) and we will go from there. From my reading, the side effects from taking HRT via a patch are less than taking it in pill form.

I can say I have been on it for a year and I think it does put on weight. I am not eating alot at all. I have gained 30lbs. I really think it is the pills.

I have been on Premarin 1.25 for almost 1 year. I have not gained any weight.
