Red face - swelling 9 days post-op are stairs a no no?? swelling 9 days post-op are stairs a no no??

Hi,

It has been a little over a week since my TAH with one ovary. I have been doing my walking around on the 2nd floor of my home. When I made it up the stair after leaving the castle. I refuse to go back down. I have breakfast, lunch, and dinner in my bedroom. I had to use the stairs yesterday for a doctors appointment. Then I went down stairs again today. I have cramping (which probably gas) but some swelling just above my incision more on the left. My incision is in tact since she stitches the inside and glued the out. I really do not like how it feels....any suggestions?

Hi and !

It's nice to meet you! I hope you will enjoy being a part of this supportive community.

To get support and share experiences with those who can relate, you'll want to start a new thread of your own on the Post-Op message board, just like you did here in the Introduce Yourself forum. Of course you should always call your doctor with concerns you have. Doctors' orders vary as to what is and is not allowed post-op. My doctor said stairs a couple of times a day were okay but not to overdo. Short, frequent walks were encouraged, too.

I'm sending best wishes for your recovery!
