My dr. prescribed me 5mg of valium to take on the way to the hospital. I was wondering how it makes you feel. I do want to be relaxed but I want to be coherent when I get there. I don't want to be silly either!
It made me very relaxed. It was a very pleasant feeling. I was not incoherent, either.
No driving for sure. I took mine after an impacted wisdom tooth was removed, and I was told I would not be able to take care of my toddler for the rest of the day - probably because, like Callie, I wouldn't care as much about things and he might do something to endanger himself. That should not be a worry since you will be taking yours on the way to the hospital.
Oh I LOVE valium!!!!! I asked the doc to give me something for my nerves, cause I am having a lot of crying spells, and was hoping he would give me those, but NO. He prescribed Wellbutrin, which if mostly for depression. I tried them, and when I tried to go to sleep at night it was like a fast forward movie playing in my head when I would shut my eyes, and they made me feel jittery inside, so no more of those!
I have been prescribed Valium to get me through up until my surgery because of my nerves & the anxiety of it all. It dosen't make me loopy or silly at all, just takes the edge off. The other day I was on the verge of tears all morning, I got home took the Valium & realized that my urge to breakdown & curl up in the fetal position had gone away. It has absolutely helped me to get through these last couple of weeks!
