Pain 3 months after Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (endo patient)

I had a total laparscopic hysterectomy for endometriosis on Feb 12, 2008. I have been doing very well and back to a normal routine. Yesturday when I went to the bathroom I was scared to see that I was bleeding. Not a lot, but on the tissue when I wiped. No pain. Today I am not really bleeding but have a lot of throbing pain. I have never had this before. At times it feels like something could fall out! When I called the doctors office last night they had the on call doctor call me. He said depending on how much pain I was in and how much I was bleeding would determine if I should be seen in the ER or it could wait till Monday when the doctors office is open. I choose to wait it out for now. I didn't have the pain when I talked to the doctor last night. Any one else had this happen? I don't know what to do. I don't want to spend the high co payment to go to Er. But will if you think I should. Any suggestions?

Hi....If it were I, I would probably not go to ER unless I was in extreme pain and/or bleeding alot.....possibly could have been you were overdoing it...how is the pain now???....I just don't like the unpersonal feeling I get from docs in ER...but of course would not hesitate to go if I thought my pain or bleeding warranted it...you are still only 3 months post-op so maybe, hopefully you have just been overdoing it....please let us know what happens....hoping you don't have to go to ER

Pain 3 months after Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (endo patient)

I do still find, and I am 9 months post....that if I stand on my feet for a long period of time or go for long walk, I will still get a dull aching up inside, but seems to subside when I rest...I would not say mine was actually painful though......I know the first few months after, I developed all kinds of throbbing, and shooting pains, but they would come and go and never last for longer than few minutes......

This pain I have has lasted for about 24 hours now. Seems to be gradually getting worse. I hope I don't have some kind of infection. It's just weird that out of the blue I had bleeding and then the bleeding stops and now I just have pain. I was doing so well. I am very fustrated!

Pain 3 months after Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (endo patient)

I just got home from the ER. The doctors think my endometriosis has come back and has attached it self to the vaginal cuff. The on call doctor is going to speak to my doctor in morning. He thinks he will want to do an MRI and possibly a biopsy. They saw some blood in the cavity around the cuff but said the cuff has heeled good. That's why they are leaning towards it being the endometriosis again. I was doing so well too. I can't beleive this is happening. I am very fustrated.

I am sorry you may be having problems with endometriosis so soon after your surgery.

Is your doctor an endometriosis specialist? If not, you might want to see if you can find one in your area. Endometriosis on the vaginal cuff is definitely a possiblity and could explain the bleeding. Hopefully the endo can be excised and the cuff repaired.

We do have an Endometriosis Support where you will find other women who are dealing with endometriosis issues both pre and post hysterectomy if you want to "talk" about endo.

I hope today you are feeling better! in there! S
