14 days and feel like my period will start???

Okay. Vaginal hysterectomy 5/6/08 - kept both ovaries. Slowly but surely feeling better... Until today. Day 14. I feel crampy and achy -- abdomen, back, and legs. What the heck? It seems like it was improving until tonight! Was I too active today? Did I forget and lift or pull something. I almost feel like a period is coming on! Can anyone relate? Just took percocet. Relief is coming, but I wonder if these little hills and valleys creep up from time to time and make us question if our healing is taking a step backwards or forwards. Do you know what I mean?

14 days and feel like my period will start???

Hi there ... I know what you mean.

I had a TAH - kept both ovaries. My understanding is that our bodies are still producing hormones on a cyclical basis therefore not all PMS symptoms will go away. However, it will not be as painful (if any).

My period started the day I had my TAH and on week 4, I felt a couple of things but it only lasted for a day rather that the 3 weeks it normally did.

Once our body has adjusted these little hills and valleys will slowly creep away.

Hope this helps.

14 days and feel like my period will start???

Hi, I'm 21 days post-op..I too had a TVH + A+P repairs....I get crampy if/when I've done too much...it feels like a period coming on.... the best thing to do is rest...I really overdid it one day becuz my washer stopped mid load and I had to bail out the water and wring out the clothes...I woke up covered in blood and went to the hospital...no broken stitches but just too much stress caused my incisions to bleed. So if you are "Crampy" slow down and rest! Grace

I had an SAH, and am on HRT. I felt that way a couple of times, just briefly though. But, it is so nice to know that it really isn't coming!

I also had a TVH with A&P repairs and Monarc TOT sling. My doctor told me that since I kept both my ovaries that I will still feel some of the PMS symptoms, such as ovary pain when I ovulate or mood swings or crampiness. I do agree with Caring_heart---Its not supposed to be AS bad as before surgery. If I hadn't been so afraid of going through menopause at 30, I'd have had the doctor remove my ovaries too so I wouldn't have to go through the monthly symptoms. Oh well!
Best wishes to you!!

I know what you mean! I am experiencing PMS right now, which I wasn't quite understanding; but I guess since I still have the one remaining ovary, the hormones will still fluctuate, doctor said hopefully not as bad, since no more bleeding.

14 days and feel like my period will start???

I am 20 days out and this week would be period week. Last week was the PMS week. I felt the breast pain and little twinges down below. Talked to dr yesterday about it. He reminded me that these things still happen since I still have ovaries. But how nice was it to have all of these little things but no mess or massive stay in bed pains. I smiled at that thought! I just took an Advil and laid down for a bit and it has been good since.
Remember to take it easy.
Good luck,
amy

14 days and feel like my period will start???

TVH with BOS April 29th so everything is gone. I've had occasions when I feel as if Im going to start as well. Doctor said it was a sign I was doing too much and to slow down and rest.
I do have a friend that went thru this and she said for the first couple of months when it was her period time she would feel like she was gushing and run to check and nothing. Her doctor told her its phantom periods. Like if you lose a limb you can feel it hurt or itch.

Yep, I had that problem too a couple weeks ago (and posted asking about it too)!

Just healing I guess. It was just odd because the cramping was during when I WOULD have had my period.

So you guys mentioned the PMS symptoms. I was full on expecting PMS (I get terrible breast pain), but I did not experience that this month. Maybe our PMS symptoms will be lessened now without our uterus?

I hope are right and without our uterus the pms will be lessened, I think the emotions will be effected, but the cramping should be gone, right?
