I can never do anything the easy way

I am one month and one day post op from a TVH.

I followed your advice, I followed the dr.s advice, I did everything as I was told.

I ended up tearing a bunch of my stitches and bleeding so when I saw the doc in week 2 post op she swabbed the stitches.

Got the culture back today. I have a Strep B infection in my stitches. Which explains alot.

I was put on 4 more weeks bedrest. I'm still bleeding, the stitches are still in there nice and tight and my DH is at wits end between his work schedule and trying to take care of me.

The anger has kicked in and I feel horrible and unable to control myself. ''/i just can't ever seem to do anything the easy way.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. I was doing too much myself, which caused my vaginal stitches to bleed and was ordered to extra bed rest time (2 wks. more). It is frustrating. I felt like I was being pretty "good", as far as allowing myself time to heal, but stuff happens. I don't think we can ever be totally aware of what can happen and not everyone has the same guidelines for recovery either. Don't be so hard on yourself. I mean, there was obviously no way for you to know you had an infection either. It is hard leaving everything up to your hubby (in my case, it's my fiance), but that's where the whole "in sickness or in health" comes in. I'm sure he is tired and all, but I'm sure he loves you to and wants to take care of you. That's one thing I know about my guy, is that he feels good taking care of me. Good luck and REALLY, don't be so hard on yourself!!! Really, it's tough recuperating no matter how "good" you are!

I feel your pain. I too can sing the blues about "not" getting better the way I should've. It's been a very long road for me as well and there are many, many days that I want to just curl up in a ball and cry the "poor pity me blues". But then I think about all the people out there that are so much worse off than me. At least I know there is light at the end of my tunnel. There's light at the end of your tunnel too! Pamper yourself, baby yourself and yes, feel sorry for yourself. Then think, ok, it could be worse so I will think positive thoughts and get through this. Best of Luck to you. And remeber you have every one here to complain to. We care, we will listen.

My heart goes out to you so much! Sometimes things happen out of our control, and the hardest part is sometimes giving ourselves the time to rest and heal and nurture. I'm sorry you are feeling so down and discouraged, this is a tough time, but like others say there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and this too shall pass. Its the present moments, if we can but temporarily take a reprieve from our situation and just be in the moment, that the serenity will come. You are in my prayers!

Dont' blame yourself, whatever you do. I'm ten weeks post op and having tons of pain in my rectum and front. Of course I'm thinking, it can never be easy or normal for me either. Then I read what some of these other women are suffering and it makes me feel humble. You will hear a lot of this but I urge you to take it REALLY RIDICULOUSLY easy. There's nothing else you can do because if you don't take it easy, you'll end up on your back again. Taht's what keeps happening to me. I feel your pain re the complications. One gets really fed up but it will pass. I'm praying for you. With regard to your mood, don't worry. One guarantee is that it will change. That's kind of a joke. The mood changes are hard to keep up with but they also pass. God bless.

Meh,

I can only imagine that this is very rough for you. I have very similar feelings because of my own complications. But, I have taken a different approach recently and honestly it's helped.

I have begun to "expect" the worst. Whenever I have to see the doctor or try something that is supposed to be an improvement. If I expect the worst, then anything better than that is good. I am also trying to wake up each morning and look for the good things that I can choose to be thankful for THIS day.

Sometimes it's just enough to take the time to cry and get it all out.

I pray that you are feeling better really soon and that the rest of your recovery is positive and uneventful.

Godspeed... ~ Tiffani

Meh; I can relate to your frustrations ...I also had complications which were not expected....my abdominal incision opened up in three different places due to some internal stitches coming out (my body rejecte them ) and I am 10 weeks post op and now its when my incision is beginning to close

dont know why God allows some things to happen to us, but it does make us stronger, and wiser.....hang in there, we will get better and have our lives back very soon.....

prayers are being sent your way along with a big
