Getting prepared

Well, surgery is fast approaching and even though I feel cool as a cucumber I must be internalizing it because boy have I become snappy....lol. Anyways, I called my regular doctor to give me something to help my nerves and she called me in some Adavan. Seems to really work good.

Anyways, since I am single and don't have to worry what anyone else thinks of my room, I redecorated some. Changed my bed to a more comfortable one, bought a new down comforter in bright pink and these bright blue sheer curtains for the windows. Over my closet I have curtains in place of doors (by choice) and these curtains are now sheer bright pink.

I love my new room. I did it a few days ago and I have slept great in there. I'm sure the new pillow helps huh? lol.

I just figured that if I am going to recoup in there then I might as well like it, right?

I have a hospital table that slides over the bed as well as a tv tray that I can use for stuff. My nightstand as of now is equipped with my lotions and stuff and I will be adding my meds to it soon, along with all my goodies.

Okay, this is what keeps me sane most of the time. I have moved the furniture around in there like 4 times since I set the date....lol.

Oh and there are enough magazines there to furnish a large doctor's office......
Hope you all have a good evening.

Rosemary that sounds wonderful!!! And yes, if you are going to be recovering in there you SHOULD enjoy it.

Prayers to you for peace and comfort on your journey. I am just a short two weeks after you!!!

Looking forward to reading about how well you are doing on the flip side.

Blessings,

Rosemary,

Sounds like you are having fun! I like the curtains for the closet - I removed my closet doors because I got tired of opening the wrong one! They were that old hollow wood door type anyway. Haven't replaced them because it's nice to see everything! Some day maybe...Anyway, don't forget to get movies! I was groggy for a while because of the pain meds so reading didn't really register for a while. Wanted more brainless work. My parents gave me the I Love Lucy series and some friends loaned me movies. I'm not normally a movie watcher, so it was like a luxury to play catch up on the movies I have missed. Had lots of minutes on my long distance with my sister too. Good luck to you - and to BelieverChick! You will both be in my prayers!

Oh I am a movie fanatic and since I don't have a tv in that room as of right now, I will be borrowing one of the kids portable dvd players so I can watch my movies. I figure, in all honesty, for the first 3 or 4 days I will probably just sleep a whole lot but after that I will get bored.

And lets not forget my grabber. My mom picked it up for me in the drugstore and I can tell it will be a godsend. I also tied a thick rope to the end of my bed and will use that to pull myself up to sitting if need be but I don't think I'm having an abdominal so that's shouldn't be a problem.

Your new room sounds great, very bright and colorful
You seemed to have given it a lot of thought and are very prepared

But don't forget that you shouldn't be bedridden. Walking ( slowly at first ) is actually good for you & will help rid you of the gas that seems to be a part of this surgery. Don't spend all of your recovery in your great new room

Best wishes.
