Switched from Estradial pill to Vivelle Dot patch

Almost 3 weeks ago I switched from the Estradial pill to the Vivelle Dot patch and have started experiencing a general achiness all over, headachy and insomnia - just not feeling well. I was on the 1 mg pill and am now on the .50 patch. My Dr said that was the comparable dose, pill vs patch. Does anyone know if that's correct? Or has anyone experienced that they need a higher dose of the patch than that after taking 1 mg of the pill?

Also, I've read on several posts here that the patch works better if applied to the abdomen, where our ovaries used to be, but I have a lot of belly fat so I'm wondering if that's not blocking absorption and if so, is there another place that the patch would work better?

Switched from Estradial pill to Vivelle Dot patch

I hear the patch works better on the butt, the skin there is thinner and the meds are better absorbed there. So far I haven't had any problems with the dot, I just changed to this patch 3 days ago though.
I had a estdoil patch that was huge, I asked the doc about it. He asked as he was laughing where I got it. He said it was a generic patch, so this time he wrote the perscrip for Vivelle Dot. Mine is .1 mg
We'll see.............Keep posting.

Switched from Estradial pill to Vivelle Dot patch

I am on the Climara patch .05mg. I started to wear it on my abdomen but then was told that I would get more absorption if I wore it on my behind. I wear it about 2 inches below waist level. My understanding is that the patch bypasses the liver and therefore has less health risks than pill form.
I really like this patch. It works well for me.

Switched from Estradial pill to Vivelle Dot patch

I was on the vivelle dot .05 right from surgery, but when I got home, I experienced horrific headaches. My wonderful doc called me at home to talk about it. He said that he thought my body was absorbing it too quickly so he changed me to a pill Enjuvia .625 so I guess you do get a higher dose with a pill. I was so hoping that the vivelle dot would work for me. I guess if I absorbed it too quickly, it's a good thing that I didn't put it on my behind
