Worried about weight gain

I am a dispatcher for police and fire, but I am suppose to work 3pm to 11pm Wed night, can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight and will go in hospital 11 am Thursday and surgury at 2pm. I hate to take off, but am afraid I will have last min things I'll want to do and maybe need the time to get in the right mind set. Has anyone worked the day before surgury, or not? Would like to here both sides.

Weight gain or loss really depends on your own body. Some gain and some lose. I lost weight. Others gained. Hormone Jungle is a good place to pose this question.

No you will not turn into an old lady. Many women have had hysterectomies younger than you. Hormone balancing will be important so that things like osteoporosis doesn't set in. Hi Cw, I worked up to the day before my surgery I am glad I did. I worked that weekend and I did all my last minute shopping after work. For me I like to be busy and keep my days full. I preferred to save my vacation/personal days for when I came back from my medical leave. I ended up using 2 days for the first 2 weeks back. Now I have 11 days left were I can truly enjoy them Unless you are really behind schedule getting things ready I would probaly work so you won't be to nervous. It also makes the time go faster before the surgery day. Best wishes, Diane

hi, i am going in on thursday too and i did take the 2 days off before.. on tuesday i was pretty much tied up with pre op appts both with the doctor and at the hospital. i can't eat tomorrow and i have a ton of stuff to do, i just know i would not have been able to focus... plus i need to clean and do last minute errands.. i suppose it depends on your situation. i have a 45 min ride to work and 2 kids that i am trying to get ready to go off to camp before i go in. godd luck on thursday....
