Is recovery from TAHSO similar to recovery from Myomectomy??

I had a myomectomy about 2 years ago now (I was 21) and had some complications and was in the hospital for a week, but once I got home things began to improve rapidly. I was only out of work for a total of 4-5 weeks max. I cant remember exactly. I am just wondering if this procedure will be similar. I have about 15-20 fibroids in me now and one of my ovaries is fused to my appendix and the other to my uterus so I have alot of wierd things going on in there. Im hoping one they do the procedure the pain will start to go away.

I'm searching for all those out there who had a myomectomy b4 their hysterectomy, is the recovery was similar?

Is recovery from TAHSO similar to recovery from Myomectomy??

I had a myomectomy in April of 1985 (4 weeks after we were married) and a hysterectomy in June of 2007, with two c-sections in between. But I had an LSH, not an open hysterectomy procedure. However, the two c-sections after the myomectomy were actually easier than the myomectomy. So basically, I have been whacked open 3 times. With the LSH, the incisions were on either side of my c-section scar and in my navel. Very little pain and recovery was a piece of cake. Walked one mile 4 days after surgery. For me, surgery is what you make it. Listen to your body, go with the flow, and deal with issues (if any) as they come up as calmly as you can. So sense getting uptight. Good luck. Keep us posted.
